Echocardiography remains the best technique for diagnosing and evaluating the hemodynamic
significance of an atrial septal defect (ASD). The characteristic echocardiographic
features of ASD include pulmonary arterial, right ventricular (RV), and right atrial
(RA) dilation with paradoxical or flat ventricular septal motion caused by volume
overload.

Little is known about these echocardiographic features after repair of ASD in adult
patients. This study assesses the above echocardiographic parameters after ASD repair
